As with other areas of the Public Sector, Health faces significant challenges with new organisational and funding arrangements. The requirements to share data across internal and external teams, systems and applications are evolving, and as applications such as Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) deliver positive clinical and operational outcomes, there is an increasing realisation that these benefits can only be achieved if robust and reliable networks are in place. By partnering with Updata, customers can achieve savings of up to 80% with our integrated, managed networks and services.
In 2013, Updata will become an accredited N3 supplier. We already work with a range of Health Organisations, providing support for Community of Interest Networks (CoINs) and joint working between Health and Local Authorities.
Finally, the planned transition from N3 to N4 / PSN for Health opens up questions about how individual Health Trusts should engage (or not) with the PSN, and how ‘walled garden’ networks fit in an era of constant change and multi-agency working. Our position at the forefront of Public Services Networks, supporting some of the largest public sector organisations in the country, means that we can offer Health Organisations compelling managed network and services propositions.
